WHO WE ARE
Taxus Hostel is one of the few Hostel you can find in the Italian Alps. The hostel is situated in the centre of Pieve Tesino Village (Valsugana-TN), near to Museo delle Stampe (Print Manufactures Museum) and to the De Gasperi Museum. In the neighbourhoods there are the golf course “La Farfalla”, the football field, fitness centre and the arboretum, where you can walk discovering the variety of the typical vegetation, as an alternative to difficult trekking paths that our mountains offer.
Recently renewed, the hostel has 10 rooms, all with en-suite bathroom: 2 singles, 2 dormitory with 5 beds and 6 double rooms, 2 disabled friendly.
Taxus Hostel is very cosy thanks to the welcoming atmosphere and to the modern-rustic furniture. It coddles you with plentiful and genuine buffet breakfast, with products from our valley. The Staff will be at your disposal with information and suggestion to make your stay the perfect holiday.

THE ORIGIN OF THE NAME
Taxus baccata is a conifer native to western, central and southern Europe, and one of the most diffuse tree in the Tesino Valley. It is a small- to medium-sized evergreen tree, growing 10–20 metres (33–66 ft) tall, with a relatively slow growing, and can be very long-lived, with the maximum recorded trunk diameter of 4 metres probably only being reached in about 2,000 years. The potential age of yews is impossible to determine accurately and is subject to much dispute. There is rarely any wood as old as the entire tree, while the boughs themselves often hollow with age, making ring counts impossible.
THE LEGEND OF SALVANELO
Once upon a time in Tesino Valley lived a nice rugged boy happy and quick-witted. From morning to evening was busy humming, then without worrying about the advice of the oldest ones, went quietly to walk in the meadows and woods. One day, looking for mushrooms, accidentally stepped in the footprint of Salvanelo. Immediately a mysterious force grabbed him and obliged him to run in the wood… .
